Video - How to swap your 97cc Baja Doodle Bug Mini Bike motor for a Harbor Freight 6.5 HP motor



Here's an excellent three part video series that shows you how to swap out your small, underpowered 97cc Doodle Bug Mini Bike motor with a Harbor Freight 6.5 HP engine.

Part 1
Take the throttle assembly and throttle cable off (00:38), take the air cleaner off to get to the throttle assembly (00:58), throttle assembly explained (02:35), making a bracket for the throttle cable using a bracket used for hanging vertical blinds (03:28), throttle cable bracket installed (04:38), installing the throttle cable (06:18), Next step is to pull the old motor, then prepare the mounting plate for the new motor.

Part 2
Just got done draining all the gas out of the motor. Loosen the mounting bolts from the bottom (00:20), Removing the kill switch wires before removing the engine mounting bolts (00:59), Removing the mounting bolts (01:47), pulling the motor off the mini bike (02:20), dry fitting the new motor, checking for chain positioning (03:10), going to have to remove a few links on the chain to make it work (06:38), here's the tool for braking the chain and how it works (07:04), drilling the holes explained (08:20).
